ISO 9001:2000 Certification

An ISO 9001:2000 certificate proves that your Quality Management System has been certified against a best practice standard and found compliant. Issued by a third party certification body/registrar, the certificate lets customers know they can trust that you have implemented the necessary internal processes to meet obligations.

The internationally recognized ISO 9001:2000 standard is generic. It is not a product standard, but applicable to any manufacturing or service industry. Created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), its objective is to set international requirements for Quality Management Systems.

DNV Certification

ICON Transportation Company, Inc. has always been committed to providing first-class services to our customers by maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. To ensure this, ICON Transportation Co., Inc. embarked on a journey to achieve ISO 9001:2000 registration, an internationally recognized set of requirements for quality management systems. In September 2003 this goal was achieved by receiving certification from Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a leading international accredited registrar. Our success of this achievement is due entirely to the commitment, dedication and perseverance of our valued employees.

What It Means

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created ISO 9001 standards in an effort to standardize quality management systems for manufacturing and service industries worldwide. The registration process enables companies to develop a strong management foundation by standardizing processes, systems, and quality procedures for accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. ISO registration provides an advantage to customers who seek quality and consistency of services. The benefits include:

  • Standardization and efficiency in our transportation, fulfillment and warehousing services.
  • Improved communications in our internal processes and with our customers.
  • Credibility and acknowledgement from customers who require ISO registration.
  • Ability to track and control continual improvement initiatives submitted by our employees as well as our customers.

Continual Improvement

The ISO standards are based on continual improvement. Therefore, even after a company receives its certificate, quality audits continue. Our administrative and our operations facilities will participate in quality audits every six months conducted by DNV.

Our customers expect a certain level of service quality, and ISO registration is a universally accepted, expression of our commitment to meet and exceed their needs.
